The Secretariat was established in 1965 as the main intergovernmental agency of the Commonwealth, facilitating consultation and cooperation among member governments and countries. With 53 member governments, the Commonwealth is one of the largest groupings of nations outside the United Nations.
PROBROOK has worked with Commonwealth since 2003 on a variety projects:
Sole commercial partner to the Health Division: tasked with finding “supporters” to work with the division on projects such the annual Commonwealth Health Ministers’ Meeting, sub- regional meetings and the flagship healthcare title: Commonwealth Health Ministers’ Update.
Services provided:
Researching and approaching appropriate Supporters
Editing, designing and publishing the Commonwealth Health Ministers’ Update
Raising advertising revenue for Commonwealth Health Ministers’ Update
Liaising between the Commonwealth Secretariat and the Supporters
Commonwealth Today: A biannual magazine for Commonwealth Governments and Members of Parliament published between 2005 and 2007 to keep them informed of developments within the commonwealth.
Services provided:
Planning and commissioning of the magazine – including hiring an Editor and Advisory Committee
Editing, design, printing and distribution
Selling of advertising space
Royalty payment to Commonwealth Secretariat
Contract publishing
In addition to publishing self-funding titles, PROBROOK has also published paid for titles at the request of the Commonwealth Secretariat.
